PUBLIC ADVISORY
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Anao continues to strengthen our early warning and disaster preparedness measures. To guide the public, we are officially designating the following siren tones and their corresponding meanings:
Typhoon (Before Landfall) – 36 seconds ON / 24 seconds OFF, repeated 3 cycles (180 seconds)
This means: Prepare / Be Alert. Secure belongings, stay indoors, and monitor official advisories.
Aftershock Warning (Earthquake) – Continuous tone for 180 seconds
This means: Stay Alert in Safe Areas. Do not re-enter damaged buildings, remain in open areas, and exercise caution.
Fire – 6 seconds ON / 6 seconds OFF, repeated 15 cycles (180 seconds)
This means: Immediate Evacuation. Leave the area quickly, assist others if safe, and follow evacuation procedures.
As part of our information drive and system readiness, the MDRRMO will be conducting a TEST RUN of these siren tones on September 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
We emphasize to all fellow Anaoeños that this is only a test run and no actual emergency is taking place. The purpose of this activity is not only to check the functionality of the sirens but also to allow the public to familiarize themselves with the different tones and their meanings.
