‘Ipagpatuloy ang pagsunod sa protocols,’ says Mayor Naral amid rising number of COVID-19

ANAO, TARLAC – the town of Anao dealt with a rising number of covid-19 cases these past months which went to 30+ compared to last year’s number which was only 3 cases.

Anao Mayor Rafael Naral explained in an interview with Tarlac Forum that local transmission of the said virus is happening in the town. “Oo, gano’n na nga. Mayroon nga [local transmission],” said Mayor Naral.

“Nagkakahawaan na sa mga magpapamilya,” Naral added.

Naral said that the local government unit of Anao is ready in terms of handling whatever the pandemic may offer as they are given assistance by the provincial government and health facilities.

“May komunikasyon naman [ang Anao LGU] sa TPH (Tarlac Provincial Hospital) at sa office of the Governor. Lahat ng nahahawaan [ng covid-19] ay dinadala na sa mga facilities, o mag-home quarantine nalang din. Kung anong recommendation ng TPH, ‘yon ang susundan namin.” Said Mayor Naral when asked how the LGU manages to handle the Covid-19 situation.

“Sa mga kababayan ko, konting ingat lang po dahil last 2 months ay tumaas ang bilang ng Covid-19 positive cases [sa Anao]… sana po ay ipagpatuloy natin ang pagsunod sa [health] protocols para po maprotektahan natin ang ating mga pamilya.” Mayor Naral ended.

The Anao LGU also pledged P200,000 to the provincial government for the vaccine.
