Happier Fiesta for Anao in 2023
The town of Anao will be expecting a longer and happier fiesta as Mayor Gian “Jappy” De Dios and the local government unit planned more activities for the town’s residents to enjoy.
In a recent interview with the Anao mayor, De Dios told the Tarlac Forum that the festivities in the town will be having a 4-day celebration instead of the traditional 2-day commemoration which is typically dated on the town’s “Farmer’s Day.”
“We [LGU] want to give our residents a better experience, a happier experience, this year. Magiging apat na araw ang Fiesta rito, hindi tulad dati na dalawang [araw] lang,” Mayor De Dios told TF.
He mentioned that the constituents in the town deserve a longer and happier fiesta as the Covid-19 pandemic postponed the festivities. “Palagay ko ay magugustuhan ito ng aming mga kababayan,” he added.
Mayor De Dios mentioned some of the activities that can be expected in the 4-day celebration in Anao such as the traditional street dancing competition, boodle fight, Balikbayan and Barangay Night. The LGU will also bring back the Miss Anao Pageant this year and have the Farmer’s Day be a whole-day celebration packed with activities.
De Dios also added that he would love to see the Anaoeños enjoy these kind of festivities or activities as the lockdown due the pandemic took so much from the people.
“Gaya ng ginawa namin noong Christmas Lighting last December [2022], sinimulan namin ng December 1 para matagal ito mai-enjoy ng mga kababayan ko. Ngayong Fiesta, mas matagal at mas sasaya ang lahat.” he ended. (Photo courtesy: Jappy De Dios/Facebook)
